Welcome Spring to Long Island the Japanese way with the exciting sounds of the Taiko Drums, the elegance of Japanese dance and music, and a wondrous array of Japanese cultural exhibits and events for the entire family.

THE RYU SHU KAN HAS PRODUCED THE SAKURA MATSURI BEGINNING IN 1999 AT OUR DOJO IN FARMINGVILLE.
IN 2007 WE PRESENTED THE FESTIVAL FOR THE FIRST TIME AT THE CHARLES B WANG CENTER, UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE JAPAN CENTER AT STONY BROOK AND IN COLLABORATION WITH THE WANG CENTER.
WE WISH TO THANK DR. IWAO OJIMA, FOUNDER AND CHAIR OF THE JAPAN CENTER, HIS WIFE YOKO OJIMA, CO-FOUNDER OF THE JAPAN CENTER AND ALL THE MEMBERS OF THE JAPAN CENTER AT STONY BROOK FOR THEIR SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGEMENT SINCE MY WIFE, HIROKO, AND I STARTED WITH THEM IN 2007.
